Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Conor Coady expressed his delight at their performance in Saturday’s win over Everton.
The Express and Star write that Wolves produced an emphatic 3-1 victory at Goodison Park to take them to 7th in the Premier League table.
Ruben Neves scored the first goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot before Andre Gomes equalised for the hosts.
However, Wolves showed the determination to keep fighting and got their just reward thanks to strikes from top scorer Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker.
Coady himself was once again impressive at the back, as he has been for the entirety of the season.
The 25-year-old has started all of the club’s 25 Premier League matches this term, mostly alongside Willy Boly and Ryan Bennett in front of Rui Patricio in a back three.
On Saturday’s Merseyside performance, the Liverpool fan said:
I think we’ve set the standard. We were brilliant on Tuesday and sometimes when you go away, we’ve got some great players on the counter and the way we played and set up was spot on. I love playing (my) role for the team and for the manager. To play with the team I do makes it a lot easier. The boys were outstanding – we picked up where we left off on Tuesday, which was a big thing for us. We’ll enjoy this one, we really will.
