Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Japanese winger Shoya Nakajima from Portuguese club Portimonense.
As reported by Portuguese outlet A Bola, Wolves look set to finalise a €20m deal for the player, beating competition from Premier League rivals Southampton and Leicester City.
Shoya has scored five times and provided four assists in just 11 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight this campaign.
The 24-year-old also has six international caps under his belt, and would therefore bring a reasonable amount of experience to Molineux.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t short of options on the flanks, with Diogo Jota and Helder Costa being his preferred partnership. He also has £18m summer signing Adama Traore and Ivan Cavaliero at his disposal.
Speaking about Shoya at the end of October, Portimonense vice president Robson Ponte suggested there was significant interest in the star.
The harassment has been enormous, so it will be difficult to secure it, but we only release it for an irrefutable proposal.
The winger is contracted to his current club until 2020, but that is unlikely to put the Wolves hierarchy off.
